Facilitated naturalisation of child

Hi Everyone. You all seem to know a lot, so here goes...

My friend's mom married a Swiss native. The mother is now a Swiss citizen with passport.

My friend moved to Switzerland with her mom at age 17(1/2). She is now 23 and will soon be 24. She is fully integrated with social and financial ties, speaks high German, etc.

Questions:

1. Can the daughter (my friend) begin the facilitated naturalisation process now because her mom has a passport, or must she wait till the 12 year rule kicks in?
2. If the daughter changes addresses within Switzerland, does that affect anything? (assumes she must per #1)
3. Can the daughter apply for citizenship if she travels abroad to study this year?

Thanks so much in advance!

Re: Facilitated naturalisation of child

How old was your friend when here mother got her Swiss citizenship?

If less than 18, then she should automatically be Swiss.

Tom -

Her mother just got her citizenship, so 23.

How does that affect the process?

Thanks

Then, it's not automatic, but she should be able to apply immediately.

She (or her mother) should go ask.
