Hallo,

I am a Chinese National. I have a L-permit for work issued by Basel Stadt Katon and it will end in January 2012. I would like to apply for a student visa to take 3-6 months languages course in Germany [/COLOR] from 2012 January on. Could I apply for the student visa at the German Embassy in Switzerland or do I have to process this from my home country?

If it is a L permit of duration minimum one year you should be able to apply with it at the German embassy here.

If it is a four month L permit you should check with the german embassy if they will consider you a resident in switzerland.
