So, all things "P" do not seem to be our forte this month - newborn's passport still isn't here, puppy sitter backed out (thankfully they are so cute lots of people are interested in helping) and as of today, we found out our permits won't be renewed by the time they expire which happens to be the same day we are scheduled to fly to Canada. We managed to get the information that we will need to get a re-entry visa to return after our vacation, but the woman wasn't overly helpful with any further information other than to say we can't apply until we get our baby's passport.

Anyone been through this process recently? Is it an on the spot stamp or does it take a couple days? She said something about two days before we leave but wouldn't really answer if we could go before that as well or if we needed two days for the processing...?

re-entry visa is done pretty quickly (1-2 days) I know people (in Vaud) who got theirs stamped in matter of days
