Re: travelling without a Travel Document, is it possible???

I wouldn't travel without a passport, even if I was given a letter. So I'd advise against traveling even if you get a letter, it will be hard for you to explain the letter (which will most probably be in German) to the local authorities. Last time I went back home (Pakistan), I had trouble boarding the plane because the immigration control didn't recognize my Swiss resident permit... So I'd be careful.

If you've ever tried calling the pak embassy in Switzerland, you'd probably never get an answer from them.

They are nothing short of a joke.
Really?? but they are very helpful whenever i call them..did u have any sour experience??

The airline won't let you fly without the proper documents.

If the Pakistan Embassy would write a boarding letter for you promising to allow your entry into Pakistan, then you could pursue this. But it is up to them. But then you also will need to have permission to enter Switzerland as well. Make sure your entry requirements for return to Switzerland are also in order.

Overall though, it seems to me that the whole endevour is very risky. You will want to expect that every exception to the rule you pursue is going to result in increasingly unwanted and lengthy delays once you embark.

Keep pushing to get the proper travel documents in order. Otherwise you should consider that staying home from the wedding is a very real possibility, if only to maintain your peace of mind and the safety of your children.

yea, u r absolutely right..its all very risky. But why i am determined to take risk this time is that because this would be the THIRD wedding in my family i will be missing in a row!!! can u believe all my sisters and brothers got married without me attending their weddings
first time my daughter's PERMIT got late, and due to which we couldnt apply for her passport..2nd time my daughter got sick and was hospitalized right in those days when there was the wedding going on and this is the third time i am having trouble with the passport thing
For entering Switzerland i would be needing only the PERMITS right?? if yes then entering switzerland wont be difficult because i have all 3 permits ready in my wallet.
If i enter Pakistan once and ask my husband to post the passport with VISA from courrier once it gets ready..woul;d it do any good??? i am really desparate ...why is the renewal taking so long
