Student visa?

Hi all

I am a non EU-citizen and my boyfriend lives in Switzerland. I have also lived in Switzerland doing student exchange. Now I would like to go back to Switzerland on a student visa.
Can someone please tell me the process to getting one, and what the requirements are? For example; do you have to study certain subjects or can it be anything ? And does it have to be at a university or can it be for example an internship?
How hard is it to get a student visa approved? And is it easy to renew it once it's finished?
Does it take a long time to be processed?

Thankyou to anyone who can help!!

Re: Student visa?

Try using the search function as I would bet my life that the answers to your questions have been discussed over and over and over again.

For example, typing in "student visa" yields almost 100 threads.

Re: Student visa?

Regarding the requirements of getting a Swiss Student Visa, you can find it on the Swiss Embassy website of your country. For example, I applied for a Swiss student visa and they asked me for: The Acceptance letter, Registration Letter, Bank statement of the sponsor. Copies of your passport and the sponsor's passport, Study plan, Motivation letter, letter to prove that you will leave after study. Career goals letter.

The only thing that I can not tell you about and which I am really getting stuck with (How long does it take to get a Student visa issued?) They will tell you between 6 and 8 weeks. I applied for a Swiss Student Visa two weeks ago and my course at Berne University will start on 20/2/2012. I am afraid they will reject my application because I applied late. Apply as early as you can.
