B permit - take a subbatial leave and return

Hi,

I am a citizen of new EU , B permit holder , was working in Switzerland from 09.11 till 05.12 (leaving company at the end of may). I am planning to leave Switzerland for 1 year and then come back and look for a contract. Shall I inform the authorities and still pay the mandatory health insurance?

Thanks

Speak to the proper authorities, and ask them to suggest what would be best for you - they should be able to let you know whether it's best to maintain your residence info, or just leave and register again when you return.

A B permit expires (i.e. you will lose it) after 6 months being out of the country. I would be very interested to know if what you wish to do is possible though.

The terms of your 'B' permit were clearly stated. If you break these you could be banned for at least two years.

I understand that the 6 month rule applies to all B permits. You might also want to check the cover letter that came with your permit as well as Art. 61 of the Act on Foreign Nationals.

If you read the back of your permit it says that this is void when you move abroad or stay abroad for 6 months. Itīs on the permit!!
