illegal immigrant willing to get regular

Suppose there is an illegal immigrant with no work and which is in Switzerland since 1 year.
What happens when he starts to search for work?
Has he to get regular before trying to search? How will the Swiss authorities behave in such case? Will he be forced to go away because illegal when he presents himself at immigration office, maybe saying he arrived yesterday or so...

so what happens? what's the best to do in such case?

Re: illegal immigrant willing to get regular

If he works illegally he will be taking a job away from those of us legally here, and he will not be paying his share of those services which are provided through our taxes. Illegal immigrants are deported and banned from returning for several years.

So if your aquaintance is serious about working here legally, he needs to go out of Switzerland and apply for a permit from abroad. There really is no other way.

A friend of mine has a good job and a daughter (Non EU, 'C' Permit holder) whom was born here, went to school here, trained here, worked here etc, etc. She forgot to renew her 'C' permit and the letters reminding her were ignored. The result is that when she arrived at Geneva airport from London she was refused entry, sent back to London and banned from entering again for two years.

Re: illegal immigrant willing to get regular

I guess it depends on what nationality he is and how far he has to travel to go home. But there are support groups for illegals.

He could read the site below and see what the options are.
