Completely lost...

Hi all,

I am EU-8 citizen (Latvia), my partner is French. He has a job here and B permit for 5 years. What is the possibility for me to register myself? I dont have a job and I am not a student.
Am I entitled for L-permit (6 months)? What will happen after 6 months if I will not find a job here? Do I have to leave? For how long time?

In case of getting married, will I get the same permit as my partner? Can I work here with this kind of permit?

Also, i've read that from 1 May 2012 B permits for EU-8 citizens will be subject to quotas. Where I can find out more information about this?

We reside in Vaud, Lausanne

Thanks a lot for any help.

Have a look here to see if there's already an answer to your question:

EU Permits - A few bullet points

If you're married I believe you will get a B permit too, which should let you work in Switzerland.

Good luck.
