Re: Germany visit - Permit gone for Renew

depends on what passport you hold for the entering Germany (ie that determines if you need a visa to enter that country). But definitely yes to the re-entry visa coming back to Switzerland.

You need just the reentry visa issued by the cantonal migration office

Re: Germany visit - Permit gone for Renew

non-eu can mean a lot of countries each with different rules around visas - I am Canadian (ie non-eu) and don't need a visa for Germany unless I am planning to stay for more than 3 months. But if you are from India, then you need one to go into Germany and then a re-entry visa to come back to Switzerland. again, it matters what passport you are carrying to determine if you need a visa to enter Germany.

Re: Germany visit - Permit gone for Renew

Hi,
Your "new" permit might be under the extension process I assume your current permit might still be valid?

If your current permit is still valid during the expected dates of travel, you can enter/exit the Schengan countries without any issues.

Incase its not, you can get explain the situation in person at the Immigration office (Eg. Berninaplatz in Zürich) and get a single/multiple entry Schengan visa that will entitle you to visit the Schengan countries and return to Switzerland without and issues. The visa costs are in the vicinity of CHF 90-100 (unsure of the precise amount)

Hope that helps.
- Abhi
