Schengen visa for Cyprus? Conflicting information

Hi,

So I am a B permit holder. Non EU country citizen.

Travelling to Cyprus. Is it possible on a Schengen visa?

Conflicting info on the net. Cyprus allows people who have Schengen visa to enter it's terrritory when they enter from a another Schengen state but not when Cyprus is the first port of entry.

Anyone made the journey to Cyprus and back with a B permit and a non EU passport without a hassle from here in Switzerland.

Thank you.

Visa Requirements
IMPORTANT NOTE FOR TRAVELERS: Please note that holders of a valid Schengen Visa who have already travelled within the Schengen Zone, may travel to Cyprus without an additional Cypriot Visa.

Residents of non-EU countries who hold valid Schengen visas and who have already entered Schengen countries, as per the Schengen regulations, may now travel to Cyprus directly from that Schengen member country without applying for a National Cypriot visa and stay in the Republic of Cyprus for the duration of their Schengen visa.

I assume you are talking about the Republic of Cyprus that is an EU member; not the Turkish republic of Cyprus?

Re: Schengen visa for Cyprus? Conflicting information

But it gives conflicting reports all over. One says it is EU but not Schengen, another says it is Schengen but it can not be a port of entry( not my issue in this case) but can allow entry from another Schengen state, making Cyprus the 2nd or onwards destination but JUST not the First port of entry. And others say that a visa is needed.

:S
Any help.
