Getting Permit/Health Care/Bank Account

Which order do these go in?

I ask because my plan the second day I am in Switzerland is to get my permit. However, my understanding is that I can't get my permit without proof of health insurance.

I am moving to Switzerland next week.

My understanding is that I cannot get a bank account or health insurance without a residence permit.

I am a bit confused as to what comes first. I know that I will need to present my work contract, my EU passport, and my residence address to the Kreisburo...but when they ask for health insurance that I don't yet have, how will I be able get a permit?

Many thanks,

Paul

Re: Getting Permit/Health Care/Bank Account

When you get your permit you inform the issuing authority which health care company you will be using, you have 3 months to choose,
anyway the policy commencement will be back dated to the first day of the month you arrived here.

Then you go to Post Finance and open an account.

Then you go to your health insurance and sign up for a policy.

You can do all the rest later, but start looking next for accomodation.

I agree about post finance for the bank account. starting to look a lot better every day than the bank I have *U Best Stop asking me the name* cause I don't want to spread dirty laundry about my bank

Re: Getting Permit/Health Care/Bank Account

I was with that bank for 15 years, I always had an overdraft facility of one month's pay. Then they made me take out a loan to pay back the overdraft. I left them and joined the Post Finance, and repaid the bank loan.

The Post Finance charges are very reasonable, in 7 years there was never a mistake, they open longer hours, in more places, as every Post Office can help you. And the payments are made the following working day.

Vote with your feet! The 2 biggest banks are not interested in the average employee, so why put up with them?
