How to get long term permit for non-swiss MIL?

I am a Swiss citizen married to a South African. If we wanted our mother in law to come and live with us in Switzerland as she would help with the kids as we both work, would this be at all possible? My husband has a B Permit and is applying for his C permit / swiss nationalization at the end of the year as he has lived here 5 years.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Kind regards

Re: How to get long term permit for non-swiss MIL?

That's a great question! My Swiss husband has also often talked about getting my dad to come live with us since he is retired. I'd also be interested in others expierience with having a family member live here. Thanks in advance!

Unless she can prove that she is independently wealthy (ie can comfortably afford to live in Switzerland without recourse to public funds), then no.
