Working with a Student Visa

I'm going to be studying in Bern for a year and I know I could use some extra cash. From what I've read I think I can work for a restricted number of hours (something between 15-20 hours/week?). Does anyone know the exact number of hours for a student in Bern?

In the US illegal unskilled work is very common. But in my experience the Swiss/Germans are more concerned with following the law, so I don't expect it to be as common. Does it happen?

Can anyone refer me to information for student jobs (landscaping, manual labor, restaurant, retail, ect.)?
