UK document stating parents' names for Anmeldung - any ideas?

I've just arrived to Obwalden from the UK and went to sort out my Anmeldung today. I had all the necessary documents but they still won't finalise it until I can present a document which states who my parents are (this isn't shown on my birth certificate, I have the small free version as the longer one got lost by my bank...). I'm 22 and haven't lived with my parents for years now!

I've sent my poor mother to the register office in my hometown to see if they can provide anything, but does anyone else have any suggestions?

Many thanks in advance,
Laura

A copy of your parents marriage certificate should work.

I think this would normally be shown on your full Birth Certificate, so maybe you should apply for a proper duplicate. I suspect this would be the only thing the UK authorities would be able to do, and unless you've got some other official document listing them, I doubt if there are any other options available to you.

Oh, and Welcome to OW! Whereabouts are you?

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll try both of them I think, I just really want to get this sorted quickly before my workload gets heavier!

I'm living in Sarnen, which so far (and especially in this weather) is lovely.

As Ace1 says, you will probably need to order a copy of your full birth certificate. You can order online from the GRO here

It's very wise to always have a valid copy of your birth certificate - you will need it from time to time

We have colour photocopies of ours on file and also with our parents back home, they seem to work fine for most purposes...

Order a new birth certificate for yourself from the public records office. That's what I did.

There was no requirement for my parents' wedding certificate.
