B-permit CZE reunification with BGR - Zurich

Hello all,
I would be glad if you can help me on the following question..
My wife is Czech and until now she worked on L-permit in Zurich (few times short-term contract in the same company). Now she is finally getting unlimited contract, which should give her with very high probability to get the "B" permit.

Assuming that she will get it, do you know what is the process for family reunification in this case and if I'm entitled (or at least have the possibility) to get some permit as well to move finally with her to Zurich and hopefully to look for a job there as well? I'm Bulgarian (EU-2).

Until that moment I know that this wasn't possible as she was having "L-permit".

Thank you in advance for your comments

I don't want to raise your hopes, so it has to be a "Maybe"

I've received an answer from the Migrationsamt, looks like that it's definitely and not only maybe Hope that would help also the others, my german is not that good, but in basics it's mean that if I have a place to stay (contract for it) and being with my wife, I will get same permit as she does (B)

Sehr geehrter Herr xxx

They will give you B - for family reunion and most probably with no rights to work, only to live and pay health insurance. I am quite interested in this thread, as I am almost in the same position.

You will be able to work as well. I was in a similar situation and started to work right after we got married...

As the main permit is EU (L or B doesn't matter) you will get the same as your wife with right to work (I know we had this, we were given initially EU-L and my family got the same, with right to work)

Re: B-permit CZE reunification with BGR - Zurich

To be honest I am very suprsised by both your answers and in the same time full with hope! As said before I am in a similar situation. We are both from Bulgaria, my boyfriend has a B permit for 5 years. We have asked what are the chances for family reunification and the reply was that I would get B permit but with no rights to work

Yes, officialy we are not family, but living for the past seven years as such!
Should we get married or?

Thank you!

Re: B-permit CZE reunification with BGR - Zurich

I'm not aware if the same rules apply for a 'friendship'. By my humble opinion you should be married to have the same rights as your boyfriend does. (Doesn't matter where you from).
Please check this link, I've got also some more info from this thread

However why you just don't go together to the Migrationsamt and ask in person (my wife should get her unlimited contract this week, so I will update you if I have more details once she asked them directly when submitting papers for the "B")

After all .. 7 years.. it's about time

Re: B-permit CZE reunification with BGR - Zurich

According to the link you gave me we are in the group of "unmarried partner"
Well I think so

We have contacted the Migrationsamt and they told us that they will give me B with no right to work

Probably the best thing is to go there in person but after we return from the holiday.

Good luck and hopefuly you will be with your wife soon!
