Can a EU citizen get any type of permit to study German in Switzerland? The purpose is to improve his German and to get a job here.
Thanks

What do you mean with "any type" of permit?
What EU country are you from?

Hello,
It's about a friend from Romania. His girlfriend lives here (in Zurich) and he wants to come also. He tried to obtain a job in Switzerland but he realized is not easy without speaking German language, therefore he is interested to learn it. Even so, the permit issue is a problem so he want to know if he can obtain an L permit if he will come to study German. It will be for few months or for 1 year? And, the study permit allows him to work also?
Thank you.

Re: study permit

Pretty much all the info you need, in English, from the official government site:

http://www.bfm.admin.ch/content/bfm/...l_eu_efta.html

http://www.bfm.admin.ch/content/bfm/...rumaenien.html

Working on a permit issued for study is strongly restricted (< 15 hrs/week in term time), and generally not permitted at all in the first year of study by the institution. If you want to work, get a work permit - simple.
