I am working for a big electric company in Zurich with L type permit for 2 years (since Dec 2010).
This year the company is applying to permit B for me and asking my boss to fill out some extra forms, letters..etc.
But by December 1, I will start to work for ABB in Baden-Kanton Aargau.
That means the work permit needs to be transferred also to Aargau.

In which way should it be easier? Applying for an extension in Kanton ZH with my current job and transferring it later on to Aargau?
Or applying for it in Aargau by involving the future boss also in this fun bureaucracy?

Your new B permit would be tied to your old company, so your new company would have to get involved in this anyway, right?

I am working for Abb and will work for another role in Abb. So it s an internal change. That s why I wonder wouldn't it be better if the permit gets extension for my current role?
The Aargau work office is requesting my documents such as diploma, my parents nationality and so..it will be the whole process from the scratch again..

You have probably tried this already, but given that it's an internal transfer, couldn't the HR department at ABB help with the formalities?

I would like to cross check. i need to start new job quite soon , and my visa expires in the same week. I have limited time so I wonder if anyone has any similar experience and can give me some advice
