Non EU getting married in Switzerland for a man with B visa

Hello everyone...
I have a question if maybe some if you have experience with this...
We are young couple...27 and 25 years old..being together for 4 years...
He moved here and he got B visa 2 years ago and since I finished my studies and he got contract here we decided lets try to live here and get married here...

In May this year I stared procedure to get visa trought one company who wanted to hire me...Now we are on the very end of getting it...I guess...from 1.1.2013....but that would be D visa- just resident visa...and after I should apply for B visa when I move here...
But even If I get that B visa it will work just till I work for that company...so we decided after all that years of great life together to have family here...
Do you think if I get D visa now and I can live here, just to start procedure to get married here....???
Any enxperience..

Thanks a lot...

The big question is whether your partner holds an EU passport...

Once your D visa is approved you can move here and apply for your permit at the commune and they will process your permit.

Once you have done that then go to the Civil register and tell them that you want to get married. They will tell you all the papers you need to provide them and what the processes is.

Re: Non EU getting married in Switzerland for a man with B visa

Once I went to get informed about procedure how to get married here and they didn't want to tell me, or they couldn't tell me anything...they asked me for our personal informations frist, and they said they will send him papers what he needs for that...
Now, do you think is it a good if I go now and give them our infos just to get informed, even if I didn't still get my D visa?
Maybe when they see my name they will know I am i procedure to get D...
Maybe that can change their mind or something...
We will go back home for holidays soon and I thought maybe if we need soem papers from home that we can do now...thats why I wanted to ask them what all we need...

Re: Non EU getting married in Switzerland for a man with B visa

You will need papers from home. The Etat Civil (civil registry) can't stop them from issuing your D visa. Anyway, a D visa is only an entry visa which you won't get until your work permission gets approved.

Are you within your allotted time to be in the country? I assume you are on a tourist visa right now. Have you over run your 90 days?

You should tell them up from. "Hi, I'm in the process of getting my D visa because I am moving here for a job. When this is finished and once I move here, me and my fiance(e) want to get married. What do we need to do? What papers do we need to provide you?".

You are making it more difficult than it needs to be.

In the meantime, you may want to read this to see if it helps.
