Multiple Entries.

I'm finalizing my visa procedure (apparently I received the "permission" to receive the visa from the embassy, not the visa itself.. anyway..) and they're asking me about single/two/multiple entries... What should I put here? I've asked for different visas (student mostly) and they've never asked for this.. they just write multiple entries from the beginning..

Any ideas? I'm inclined to put multiple entries but I don't know if this is normal...

Thank you!

Re: Multiple Entries.

If they are giving you a choice, ask for multiple entries.

It will help in case you need to travel outside Switzerland, between your registration here after first entry, and getting the permit.

Re: Multiple Entries.

Yes, just go multiple entries even if there is the remotest chance of you leaving the country while waiting.

Re: Multiple Entries.

Thank you..!!

But I don't really understand.. I have the permission already and they told me that I had to go to the embassy, leave my passport and I'll be able to pick it up on friday with the visa in there..

So, the multiple entries is in case I want to leave the country while working in Baden (like to another country for a weekend on so)? or in case I want to leave the country between your registration in Baden after first entry, and getting the permit.?

I'm a bit confused

When you arrive, you will register at the city office (Gemeindehaus in the German side), and then there's a delay of a few weeks before you actually receive a physical permit. It's better if you have a multiple entry visa, which would allow you to leave and enter Switzerland freely while you are waiting for the permit. Does that make sense?

Re: Multiple Entries.

Yes! Much better..!!

Thank you.. I'm still getting used to all these procedures.. I can honestly say this is the first country I've lived where they have all these documents and steps for a visa (and I really thought that United States' visa procedure was a hard one..!!)

Thank you all, again..!!
