Non EU with B permit - Contract job possible ?

Hi there,

I am currently working in a permanent position and have B permit. As I am not from EU I have to renew my permit every year. For the renewal, the papers are signed by my employer with my salary, position, etc.

I would like to start doing contract work. In this case, would my permit be "downgraded" ?

Can I keep my B permit working as a contractor ?

Thank you in advance.

If your B permit don't have any restrictions then you are allowed to do contractual jobs provided you have a sponsor. This sponsor can be a company which will do your pay rolls or the company where you have contract.

Thank you.

My B permit has no restrictions, so this would be fine I think.

My concern is the possibility of be 'between contracts' during the renewal period. In this case there won't be any sponsor.

Then it may not be renewed. Try not to get in that situation.

Re: Non EU with B permit - Contract job possible ?

This is the only reason I really didn't move to contract jobs yet.

I am afraid of getting in this situation before getting the C visa (more 6 years to go).

Thanks all for the feedback. I will spend some time thinking about it before decide anything.

The economy is not good at the moment, so contract roles are limited. Wait until next year and check again, would be my advise.
