Can I teach English from home?

I will be moving to Switzerland in August and I still haven't found a job. Since I am qualified to teach TEFL can I do that as a self employed? What are the requirements?

Re: Can I teach English from home?

From the bfm.admin.ch website:

I am an EU national and would like to become self-employed in Switzerland. How do I proceed?

Within 14 days of their arrival and before taking up any gainful employment, self-employed people need to register either with the communal authorities of the place they reside or with the cantonal labor and migration authorities and apply for a residence permit for self-employment. Also required are a valid ID or passport and documents proving that the requirements for self-employment are met (business plan, start-up capital, under certain conditions also listing with the register of commerce. etc.).
For further details, go to
Cantonal migration authorities

People who can prove that they can successfully maintain self-employment are granted an EU/EFTA residence permit valid for five years. The competent local authorities may at any time check whether someone is genuinely self-employed, whether a person's self-employment is sustainable, and economically viable. If these requirements are no longer met, a permit may be revoked.

I use verbal planet as well.

My teacher is in India. So far I had one lesson and its good. I am going to have 5 more.

There are quite allot of English speakers, you may want to price Low and then gain a reputation first.

Good luck. Also keep on searching, I am sure someone with that certification should be accepted.
