Re: Pakistani Embassy in Bern
I've just received a 20-days Pakistan tourist visa and here is how it worked:
- spent a solid 2 weeks on the phone with the embassy trying to get an indication as to whether travelling by land would be okay.
- finally got a positive verbal answer on the phone, after I insisted I was just travelling the north of the country.
- showed up at the Bern embassy with all my documents* (and indeed no plane tickets to present) and the lovely officer told me all was in order.
- received my passport with a 20-days tourist visa via registered mail (+5CHF) the very next day, after I told them I was leaving very soon.
Moral of the story: if you can, just go there with your documents and explain your situation.
Note: I was granted 20 days despite my application for 30 days. But this should be enough for my itinerary.
