UE citizen with B permit holder want to get self employed in Zurich

Hello i tried to find some coherent infos about how to proceed but it looks confusing...
I am working in zurich, but might leave the job soon. I would like to work as a self employed and open an internet shop.
could any one tell me what is the exact procedure toestablish a einzel firma with my existing b permit in Zurich???? Did any one register as self employed in zurich????
I would be grateful to get a complete info about how and what to do and what is needed because its a quite urgent matter...since i might not get my job contract extended...
Thank you in advance!

The search button will be your friend, there are numerous threads on this very subject if you look, but bottom line go to the SVA and they will put your right.

Re: UE citizen with B permit holder want to get self employed in Zurich

yeah I know...I checked most of them and they are not clear because some say the applied while having a L permit and showed they have invoices, some where having B permit but not Eu citizens and they were asked to provide a business plan... some were not so thats why I wanted to ask for Eu citizen with b permit experience since each experience is specific and doesnt give the total full information and is just making me confused...

Not properly then as I have posted on at least 3 EU B permit threads. There are kantonal differences so got to the SVA and they will tell, you, but yes business plan, yes sources of business, yes any trading history

Thanks guys
Papa goose I found your post
Self Employment Registration

If I can ask was the business plan a brief one like 3-5 pages or very detailed one like the usual one about 20 pages... with all the financial calculations?

Re: UE citizen with B permit holder want to get self employed in Zurich

There are several workarounds but they are not likely to be susceptible to explanation on an Internet forum, nor are they likely to be DIY projects.

Try first as you've been advised. But one alternative is to rely on the EU-CH treaties and the right of an EU enterprise to establish a branch in Switzerland and to bring any employee with the right to work elsewhere in the EU/EEA/Switzerland to transfer to another such country for one year. The basic rule is the "Rush Portuguesa" decision of the European Court of Justice.

The point of this posting is just to tell you there are options. But first you need to prepare a business plan.

The workaround used by people like yourself relies on the fact that unlike Civil-Law countries, in the UK and Ireland anybody can set up a business without approvals from this-and-that government office. And anybody can own the shares. And the firm can hire anybody.

(After the one-year secondment you need to think of something else. But by that time the firm has succeeded or not, most likely. You do need to get the right to work in that other country, but most are likely to be easier than Switzerland, relying on a Friendship, Commerce and Navigation Treaty with the USA.)
