I wouldn't recommend it, must be very uncomfortable ;)

Seriously, yes you could work I suppose, cash in hand but it would be for things like cleaning jobs. Not sure how easy it will be to find anything...

Well get a real job... plenty of short term stuff where you get an "L" permit.

What about insurance in case of accidents?
Here for 6 months? You need health insurance.
And so on.

Or is your plan just to turn up, work cash in hand and contribute nothing?

Harsh perhaps, but everyone else I know here has come to work, filled in the forms, pays their taxes etc. Why should you expect to do different?

Well we have an entire section to deal with permits - why don't you try over there? This was a thread asking about an under the table job. But I'll give you a hint - you don't get a permit without a job - a proper one.

Hi Goldstar. Since this really is about how to get a permit so you can get a job ;), I've moved your thread to the Permits/Visas/Government section.

What brings you to Switzerland?

Have you thought about au pair work? That should be fairly easy for you to get if you're native English speaking, and a permit is then straightforward as well, depending on your age.

An au pair is a live-in nanny. Depending on your age, you may qualify to do this and can live here for up to a couple of years. There are plenty of sites online for agencies that can help you get started.
