Reunification Visa for My Wife/I am Swiss!

Hello!

I´m a Swiss National who was raised in Central America. I will be moving "back" to Switzerland with my wife and 2 year old son. Me and my son have our Swiss Passports, but my wife does not.

Our original plan is for me to get to Lausanne first and establish al necessary forms of help (we will need it) and then have her get to switzerland with my son. She doesn´t need a Tourism Visa to enter and stay in switzerland for three months.

My question is:

1) In order for her (Us) to take residence in Lausanne (Vaud) can we Apply for her Family Reunion Permit when she gets to Switzerland???

No, you need to do it before getting to Switzerland!

I'm not sure what you mean by "forms of help"….. if you mean unemployment benefits, you may be disappointed… if this is what you mean you should find out what you would get before moving over!

No, you wife needs to apply for her Type D visa in her home country as stated in the link below (Entry and Customs Formalities):

Foreign spouse/partner
Spouses and partners who do not have Swiss citizenship are entitled to a residence permit in Switzerland in line with the principle of family unification. Depending on their nationality, they may require an entry visa, which has to be applied for in advance from the Swiss representation in the country of residence. Within 14 days after their arrival in Switzerland, they have to apply for a residence permit at the relevant authority for foreigners.
