Work/residence permit quotas

Forgive me if this question is redundant. I took a quick look through and didn't see the answer.

First of all, I believe that the quota on EU immigration that was set last year is up sometime in May. My question is - is it possible to find out exactly how close they are to reaching the quotas on the various types of permits? Has there been any update as to whether or not there will be another quote set for the year after May? Obviously the vote for a general quota passed, but I haven't heard any update on when that is coming into play either.

Hopefully that question wasn't too confusing.

Re: Work/residence permit quotas

Not sure if you could find out exact numbers, but so far I haven't read that the EU limit for 5-year B permits will be extended beyond 31st May. Of course still a few weeks to go and that may yet change. I'm not sure they'd be allowed to extend it as iirc they're only allowed to apply it for a year under the Free Movement Agreement with the EU.

From FAQ https://www.bfm.admin.ch/content/bfm...2.html#a_faq_2

What is the number of available quota?

For EU-8 nationals the quota for residence permit (type B permit) is 545. Contingents will be released every three months on the following dates: 1 May 2013, 1 August 2013, 1 November 2013 and 1 February 2014.

For EU-17 nationals the quota for residence permit (type B permit) is 13 428. Contingents will be released every three months on the following dates: 1 June 2013, 1 September 2013, 1 December 2013 and 1 March 2014.

Re: Work/residence permit quotas

My guess would be that tendencies will stay the same. At least until laws of the recent vote will be imposed. Probably if you change the year to 2014, dates will be the same

Re: Work/residence permit quotas

Let's hope so. I arrive on May 31st with a Portuguese passport
Getting thrown out would be awfully awkward with all my suitcases!
