Customs import on shipping cost?

I'd like to get one of these:
http://www.teufel.de/heimkino/conson...et-p13800.html

it costs 299CHF (excl MwSt, as they should) plus shipping.

Do I think it right that the Swiss will use the possibility here to charge me for import customs only because the price of this thing is over 300CHF with shipping?

Re: Customs import on shipping cost?

Yes because it is over 60CHF which is your postal import limit

oh crap postal is not the same... is there a calculator anywhere how much it would be?

Would I be any better to oder to Jetstetten and just bring it in in a car (alas, under 300CHF - still plus shipping on the bill)?

oh, edit: if I order to Germany then I'll have to add 19% German VAT - plus Swiss import... I guess I'd still be better with a direct shipping

You'll end up paying a fortune, as you're in cahoots with the devil.

"Shipping" has got nothing to do with customs. It's just the cost of packaging it up and sending with the post/courier.
If you import to CH then shipping is indeed subject to VAT.

Yeah, I saw (too late) that it was coming from outside of Switzerland. Deleted my codswallop now.

Re: Customs import on shipping cost?

no I skipped the order and got something in CH.
The other option would be to ship it to a Jetstetten PO box (250EUR) and pay all dues (about 25CHF) and bring it home in the car.
