non-eu permit processing time

Hi All,

I'm a recent non-eu swiss university graduate and my employer applied for a work permit in switzerland, via a lawyer. It was approved by Canton in 3 weeks but no news from the federal for 4 weeks already. Is this a bad sign? Could we be possibly declined by Federal? I heard it was easier for federal than Canton. Maybe I was wrong.

I think it can be between 6-8 weeks, providing there are no problems like need additional documents for example. Plus there have been a couple of holidays in that period too which may slow things down a little. So hopefully you'll hear soon. :)

Sounds as if FOM isn't happy about something and wants it checked out again. Here's the procedure:

Hopefully your new company can sort it out quickly and get it back on track.
