Calling for help for those of you who live in Fribourg

Hello All,

I currently study in unifr and i have to register my residency in Fribourg but the thing is, i want to live together with my boyfriend in other kanton. If you know someone who could help me to register my name in their address, please let me know and i am willing to pay some amount of money every month.

Thank you...

You realise you're actually asking someone to break the law, don't you?

Re: Calling for help for those of you who live in Fribourg

Sorry, but I agree with PaddyG. Your student permit only allows you to live in the same canton as you study in. If you want to stay here long term, i.e. after graduating, breaking the law now isn't going to help in future.

If your relationship can't stand being apart for a bit, then it ain't a relationship that's going anywhere. You can see each other at weekends, just like millions of other people in love do. I did it for 3 years while my husband was based hundreds of miles away. Act the grown up you're supposed to be and live with it.

Re: Calling for help for those of you who live in Fribourg

My daughter lived in the boonies north of Locarno for 2 1/2 years while her boyfriend lived near Grenchen before she got around to moving up north last November, so I don't see the problem with living in different cantons.

There is really no need to be patronizing.

I'm normally a cheerleader for Being Nice Online, but honestly when someone comes along asking complete strangers to break the law (and so risk their own jobs/permits etc) just so she can get nookie a bit more often... well, I'd say she's getting away lightly with just being patronised, to be frank.

I don't disagree with that what she is proposing is plain wrong but I really don't see why that justifies patronizing and ridiculing a presumably young person of a very different culture. Including jumping to conclusions about nookie. In my non-humble opinion some people in here should consider if they would say the same thing face to face as they write in here.

You're right, of course. She may very well want to move in with her boyfriend so they can play Scrabble every night.

You're right - personally I tone down considerably, what I write online, compared to what I would say face to face.

Whether it’s for Scrabble or nookie doesn't make a difference to me. I don't see the relevance. Whether you do or whether you are just trying to be funny on someone else's expense I wouldn’t know. I would guess the latter but of course, it is just a guess.

That is great but you are obviously a minority so I hope your good manners rub a little off.

The point is that it doesn't matter *why* she wants to move in with him. Whatever the reason, asking a complete stranger to risk their home and livelihood on her behalf is mind-blowingly self-centred.

Being told to "grow up" is getting off lightly.

Yes, thanks I also got the point even without the nookie part. My simple point is that bullying is appalling. Twisting her words to basically say that the came here "asking"/demanding someone do something illegal, which for all you and I know she might not even be aware, doesn't justify patronizing/ridiculing/bullying for me. The first reply to her post was very (the Paddy guy) was very constructive. A lot of the rest not so much.

Of course the OP is aware. They know they have a permit tied to a location. They know they're not allowed to live anywhere else. They asked strangers on a website to create a fake address for them, to lie to the authorities, for money.

The OP is very naive and I'm having concerns about you as well.
