Hi all,

Has anyone applied late for their student visa? If so, can you guys share your experience?

I am starting masters in Fall 2014. The school said I need to apply for my visa at least three months prior to entry date. But due to events beyond my control I can apply for my visa only 2 months before the classes start. So basically I am late for a whole month.

My question is, should I even bother applying for a visa now? I wrote an email to my school, but no reply from them so far. Thought someone here might help me out on this.

At least means the minimum time allowed. I'd check with your nearest Swiss embassy and see what they say. You might be lucky and get it in time, but if there's any holdup then you'll miss starting at uni. Maybe better to put it back a semester if you can and give yourself plenty of time to get the application in. Check with the school if that would be possible.
