i am a foreigner married to a swiss for almost 11 years but my country do not permit to have dual citzenship and i am wondering whether should i settle for PR rather then swiss citizenship and can still have swiss passport , does anyone have any idea to share or have gone thru similar situation..thanks

Swiss citizenship is prerequisite to Swiss passport. I naturalized and my country-of-birth, not permitting dual citizenship, revoked my original passport,

it will be ashame to give up my country citizenship and most people don't is there any other ways anyone can think of getting a swiss passport, i knew number of people have dual passport which thier country do not permit dual citizenship but i have no idea how to go about getting it without surendering mine..

that is because you cannot have dual citizenship. There is no magic wand.

dual citizenship is only available if both countries are ready to do it.
if a country doesn't have this provision, there is no way a citizen can get it
if your friends got it, i think u should ask them first.
most probably, their country provides dual citizenship.

better choice is to go for swiss as there is a chance that many asian countries will support dual citizenship after some time

I totally agreed and my friends who do have dual citzenship WAS from malaysia too and the best part is US citizenship.. otherwise i have to hop for facilitate naturalization..maybe not bad for a start..

i have heard that dual citizenship can be country specific also
but not sure of that
