Processing Time for UK General Visit Visa (with Priority Service Paid)

Hi everyone, I have a question on the UK general visa processing time in Zurich via priority visa. Since the application center and the official enquiry of UK visa are useless in answering this kind of question, I decided to have a post checking with EF to see if there is any previous experience on this.

I'm a non EU b permit holder here and applied my visa in Jun online but submitted the application documents on July 15th( as that is the earliest date available when I made my appointment in Jun). Since I'm traveling overseas (not UK) on July 30th, which literately means that I have to get my passport back within 10 working days. I have asked the application center and the uk visa enquiry and nobody is able to give me an estimation of time. Their processing time published online shows the processing time for normal visa (not with the priority service purchased, which I did) and it is the time for the visa to be processed not the time it will take for you to get back your visa.

I also couldn't change my travel plan due to serveral reasons and I'm very very concerned

Is there anyone who had any experience about this?

Also, I have submitted all the required documents but I realize today that some document are in German (bank statement, pay slip...) Will that be any problem?

I'm visiting my friend in Sep for her wedding and I have included a invitation letter from her and her passport scan (she is uk citizen) as part of my application, will that make the process faster?

Any idea would really appreciated!

Re: Processing Time for UK General Visit Visa (with Priority Service Paid)

Did you do what's outlined here?

http://www.ge2ch.tpcontact.co.uk/services-general

Priority Visa Processing €127 (non-settlement)
If you meet the criteria set out below and wish to purchase this service you should log into your personal account on this website, pay the fee and bring evidence of your payment to your appointment at the Visa Application Centre.
Please note that Priority Visa Service appointments are limited. You must book a Priority Visa Service appointment through Visa4UK if you wish to have this service. If you do not have a Priority Visa Service appointment but pay for Priority Visa Service on this website, your application will be considered within our standard processing times.
If you meet the criteria (below), purchasing Priority Visa Service will guarantee that your visa application is placed at the front of the processing queue. Under normal circumstances, Priority Visa Service applications will be processed within 5 working days.
The Priority Visa Service fee is not refundable.
Please note that you should not purchase Priority Visa Service after you have submitted your application.

Only customers who meet the following criteria can use Priority Visa Service:

Visit visa applications with evidence of having travelled to and complied with the Immigration Rules of the UK, USA, Canada, Australia or New Zealand within the last 5 years
  • Tier 2 (Skilled workers) and Tier 5 (Temporary Worker - Creative and Sporting) applicants sponsored by a company/institution listed on the UK Visa & Immigration approved Premium Sponsor list
  • Dependents applying with the above

Customers who fall into the following categories are advised not use the Priority Visa Service:

  • If you have been refused leave to enter the UK, and/or;
  • If you have previously deported, removed, or otherwise required to leave the UK, and/or;
  • If you have overstayed a period of leave in the UK, and/or;
  • If you have had leave to remain in the UK curtailed by the Home Office, and/or;
  • If you have been refused leave to remain in the UK by the Home Office, and/or:
  • If you have been previously refused a visa for Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the USA or a Schengen country, and/or
  • If you have been interviewed, detained or prosecuted by the police for any offence in the UK or elsewhere, and/or
  • If you have an unspent criminal conviction in any country, and/or
  • If you have committed a criminal offence in any country.
It says under normal circumstances priority will be processed within 5 working days.

Re: Processing Time for UK General Visit Visa (with Priority Service Paid)

I Submitted my application on 1st of July and so far did not hear any thing. My travel plans are ruined as I have lost the ticket and approved vacations from office. I was supposed to get my passport last week but no tracking service is available. There is no fone line to contact.

Re: Processing Time for UK General Visit Visa (with Priority Service Paid)

Things are probably being held up by the backlog in the UK for passport and visa processing, plus the UK staff are on strike today.

Re: Processing Time for UK General Visit Visa (with Priority Service Paid)

I submitted my application on 22nd of July in Zurich, the agents told me I'll receive my passport by post in 2 weeks.. No news at all until now and my departure is 30th of August...... >< ><
I'm nervous.. Anyone else applied for the visa recently and got their passport back? Any estimation time?

Thank you.. well hopefully if they takes 28 days, I would still have chance. I'm not looking forward to cancel my trip
I'm quite nervous as this is an important trip for me. I tried to email them, and the only reply I got is that my application is delayed. They gave other links about the processing times and how to track your application with no links that actually works!!
Thank you for the peace of mind.

Re: Processing Time for UK General Visit Visa (with Priority Service Paid)

Hi Vvn_riessa,
I am in the same situation and have planned a trip but waiting for the passport since 5 weeks. I tried calling Teleperformance (UKVI) but with no luck. They are just replying that it is delayed. Do you know any other number or email where I can contact ?
I think the last option will be to go to the Zurich VAC. I am not sure if it will help but that is the last option that I have.
Any pointers will be useful.

Thanks.

I just recieved UK visit visa (with priority service and 10 years validity).
Timeline below

Biometric Appointment at Geneva - 09th March 2016
Application sent to UKVI - 09th March 2016
Application recieved by UKVI - 10th March 2016
VISA issued and passport sent back by courier - 11th March 2016
Passport recieved at home - 14th March 2016 (note that I did not recieve before as 12th and 13th were weekend days).

That was pretty quick and impressive!
Hope this helps.

Re: Processing Time for UK General Visit Visa (with Priority Service Paid)

Wow! That's really quick. I had my biometrics at Zürich last March 3rd, the application was received March 4th but until now, I still don't have my passport back. I just have regular processing (not priority).
