[Non-EU] Planning for a fresh B/L work permit application: Is this a good time?

Hi all,

I am from non-EU region and I just received an offer of employment at a large tech firm in Zurich and will soon be starting the work permit application. Not sure which one they would apply for B or L.

Since we are almost towards the end of the year, wanted to understand do work permits exhaust by this time of the year? What would be the chances of getting permits approved in Sep-Oct time frame?

Those of you who applied recently, any information on the quota availability? Are work permits getting approved at this time of the year or are we seeing many rejections?

Any information on the current trends would be useful to set my expectations right.
