I need some Advice/Help.

I am flying from Zurich to Mumbai (India) via London Heathrow Airport in January 2015 and returning back from the same route in February 2015

Details of the Flight:
From Zurich to LHR- British Airways (Terminal 5)
From LHR to Mumbai-Jet Airways (Terminal 4)

I am an Indian by Nationality and reside in Switzerland with B-permit

Do I need to have transit visa for UK ? I would be at the same airport but moving from terminal 5 to terminal 4. Will I be undergoing the immigration control?

If yes, what would be the total cost/expensive for the same.

Also has anyone experienced the same and cancelled the tickets? Mine is a non-refundable ticket but I believe that the airlines company would refund the taxes? Any idea?

I would be very thankful for the replies and suggestions.

You’ll need a visa to pass through the UK in transit (unless you’re exempt)
You should apply for a Direct Airside Transit visa if you arrive in the UK on a flight and leave again without passing through immigration control.

Exemptions
You won’t need a visa if you:

are travelling to Canada, New Zealand or the USA and have a valid visa for that country
are travelling from Canada, New Zealand or the USA and it’s less than 6 months since you last entered that country with a valid entry visa
are travelling to or from Australia and you have an Australian visa sticker in your passport - Australian e-visas and paper confirmation slips aren’t accepted by UK border control
have a valid US permanent residence card issued on or after 21 April 1998 (or an I-797 extension letter issued by the Bureau of Citizenship if it’s expired)
have a valid Canadian permanent resident card issued on or after 28 June 2002
have a valid uniform format category D visa for entry to a state in the European Economic Area (EEA)
have a valid uniform format residence permit issued by an EEA state

Switzerland is not part of the EEA

Just a thought, but would other nationalities need a Visa when transiting through Amsterdam / Paris / Frankfurt ?

No. These are Schengen countries/airports.

passport : India
Flight : from Zurich to Delhi (connection @ Heathrow)
Permit : Residence B permit Switzerland.

any conformation would be rally handy.

Then do as I suggested and transfer flights at Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Paris etc, then you won't need a visa.....

You don't expect someone to come back on EF and help you after they have gone back home do you?

If I take the flight from Heathrow at least I would for others convenience .
