| | Family Reunification and job
Hallo Everyone,
I am new member on this forum and was looking previous post and was quite impressed by the feedback and response of group members,
I have completed my master degree in Physik from Germany and last week got married to my swiss girlfriend who is swiss passport holder while still I have vakid student visa from Germany.Right now Im here in Bern and want to know following
1: For family reunion visa I need to go back to Germany or I can directly process it from swiss?
2: I think as per discussion on this forum I got feelings initially I will get D permit? and then may be ''B''. Anyone on this forum to share his/her experience about this chain up to citizenship?
3: Is it also possible to contact job firma or companies while I have no permission except my partner belong to swiss?
4: Should I directly contact for immigration here in Swiss`
Thanks again for help and support.

2. There is no such thing as a D permit. You will get a one year B permit once all the documentation for registering your marriage here has bee processed.
3. You could approach companies, but until your permit has been approved you're not able to work.
4. Your cantonal migration office is the place to start.

Have your spouse contact the cantonal migration authorities as Medea said.
You will first need to register your marriage, and since you're from India I think there's some extra paperwork involved. You may need the documents you provide to be translated and apostilled, so that can take time.
You will probably need a D-visa stamped in your passport in order to enter Switzerland long-term. You will receive a B-permit, renewable annually, once you are here with your spouse.

It will take about 6 months to get you an actual permit - your papers will need to be obtained fresh from India, apostilled in India, submitted in Switzerland or Germany, sent to the Swiss representation in India, investigated by a P.I., and sent back to Switzerland before they can decide on issuing a permit.
However: if you are married to a Swiss person and expecting a B permit in X months you can certainly apply for jobs and be taken into full consideration. Not really a problem as long as you make clear when you are expecting the visa.

As said before there is no such thing as a D permit. Once the marriage has been recognised here you will get a B permit for one year which is renewed annually so long as you stay married to her.
There is new legislation coming in around 2016/2017 regarding Swiss citizenship so you will need to investigate that nearer the time you want to apply. But as far as I know you will have to be resident here for 10 years and be a C permit holder before you can apply, you'll need to speak a Swiss language (German for Bern) and be well integrated into your community too. Some of this may be different for someone married to a Swiss national, but I think it would only be on the resdiential side and whether you could apply as a B permit holder; the rest will still apply.

The authorities here require a lot of information and documentation before they even allow you to marry here.
At this point it may be as simple as a matter of time for the processing. Your best bet is to contact the Bern authorities for instructions on the next steps, and to see if they need anything else. Be sure to ask them whether you need to exit the country to get a visa stamped. If you're not comfortable with your local language skills, ask your spouse to help. |

My mistake, the rules are a bit different for those married to Swiss nationals. I am a foreigner and married to a Swiss citizen. How can I apply for naturalisation?
You must have lived in a stable marriage with your spouse for at least three years, have lived in Switzerland for five years all in all, the last twelve months of which must be without interruption. If you live abroad, you must have lived in a stable marriage for at least six years and must have close connections with Switzerland. Regardless of where you live, you must be integrated in the Swiss way of life at least by analogy, comply with the Swiss rule of law, and you must not endanger Switzerland's internal or external security. https://www.bfm.admin.ch/content/bfm...06.html#a_0006
Whether this will change under the new legislation I don't know.
