| | documents verification for family visa
Hello everyone,
First I must appreciate for quick response from group members. Im student from Germany got married here in Bern canton last week and I had marriage certificate. My wife is swiss passport holder while I am also graduate from Germany. I have following questions:
1: For family reunification visa of non EU member, Embassy still visit family for any kind of verification after getting married here in swiss?
2: Being holder of student visa from Germany application for family reunion takes same time if I apply from frankfurt or my local geminde in swiss?
3: is it also possible to get any kind of social benefit until I find any suitable job for me as I already had master degree from germany.
Thanks again.

1. You will need to provide various documents. Birth Cert, Signed form to say your wife will support you etc, they will tell you what you need.
2. You need to apply from where you are resident for a D visa (So Germany) and your wife needs to apply for family reunification at the same time from Switzerland.
3. No. If you apply for family reunification, then your wife must show she can support you so that you don't need social assistance/ benefits.

Hi Anshuman
Could you please tell me about your process ?
In verification did they visit family or neighbours?
I recently got married in brasil and we are permanent resident of Brazil.
What kind of verification they need to do?
I haven't told about this marriage in India as it's our mutual decision

No reply can help you really, since each case is different. All you can do is wait until you get a yay or nay on your application. If you've provided all the supporting documents then they'll go through the process and if they need any more info from you they'll ask for it. Be patient.
If it's a really long time since the application went in (like 4 months) then check with the embassy/consulate as sometimes things slip through the net and get stuck.

Sorry, but no, it's not. You got married in Brazil, any verification will take place there. So long as your supporting documents are all in order, you just have to wait for the process to be done.

Because they need to check your birth certificate is correct and you're not making things up. Unfortunately, India can be slow in dealing with this sort of thing. Be patient, you will get an answer.
