Just to clarify quickly, order for permit application.

Hi! Just a real quick question to make sure I am right in thinking and don't muck it up when I do go to apply for a permit when I arrive!
I land, then, as soon as I can (with in 14 days) I go to the commune, tell them I arrive and where I will be living. (It's with my boyfriend who is renting so I assume I'd need some sort of letter from his landlord saying I am allowed to stay with him? It was verbally consented)
Then I go to the canton office with all my documents and cash and ask to apply for a permit.

Just a little unsure who's first on my list of things to do, people to see! haha!

Thanks guys, I appreciate the clarity!

Re: Just to clarify quickly, order for permit application.

Get it in writing from your landlord that you may live at the boy friend's home.

Then take your passport to Commune office, pay some money, and wait for the Permit de Séjour.

You will need to get compulsory health insurance fairly soon, https://en.comparis.ch/krankenkassen/default.aspx
it will be backdated to your date of arrival here. Without employment you will need accident insurance too.

Not compulsory, but also a good idea is to get some 3rd party liability insurance soon, https://en.comparis.ch/hausrat-versi...mparison/Input

and of course you need a job to stay here....
