Re: Dual Citizenship / Military Service?

Option A) is correct however the year you get naturalized is free so you will likely only have to pay 3 times.

You are too old to serve in the civil protection which max age to follow the base training is 30 years (this is different to civil service, which is a replacement service for the army for those who have a conscious problem by serving in the army).

You can request to join the army on a voluntary basis to serve instead of paying but this is subject to approval and subject to you being apt to serve in the military determined during military recruitment days through physical and psychological tests.

Only the long military service (circa 18 months straight and only recruit insurance of loss of gain possible so c. 63 francs a day remuneration and not 80% of your salary) could be proposed in order for you to complete all your mulitary obligations by the max age of 37 (which is a pre condition to be admitted in the army on a voluntary basis).

I seem to remember someone on here asking (for conformation of) basically uriano's question. He was I his early thirties, and the change meant he had to pay for a few years. What got him was that he had postponed naturalisation until he bypassed the old regulation, only to be kicked in the rear for a few years by the change mentioned above.

So yes, A.
