French Carte de Séjour - can I use that to work in Switzerland?

Hello,
My husband and I are both American, living in Annecy, France. I have a Carte de Séjour through him and his job here in Annecy. Does anyone know if that affords me any possibility of being able to work in Switzerland?

Also, on a slightly different note (perhaps a separate thread), is it true that a Swiss work permit is NOT required for work at one of the many international organizations in Geneva, such as UN-related orgs?

Thanks for any help/input!!

A Carte de Séjour will not allow you to work here. It is France-specific.

I don't know much about the international organizations, but someone else will be here shortly (you need a permit, but a different one, and I don't know what process determines how they're granted).

AKAIK, if you get a job in the UN at a professional level, it will be easy for you to get a swiss work permit. G-level or general service jobs (secretary, clerk, assistant, etc) will require that you are a current resident of CH.

Unless you live in Switzerland you will not get a Ci diplomatic/NGO permit as far as I know. Swiss permits are for people living in Switzerland. The only possible one for someone living in France would be a G (cross border) permit, but that doesn't apply to people working for NGO's, etc. Only Ci permits are for those organisations.

If you had a French passport you could look for a job in Switzerland. How long until you can apply for one of those?
