birth certificate

Hello everyone!

I am an Indian, born in Zurich, Switzerland, in 1970, to an Italian mother and an Indian father.

I need to submit my birth certificate for a consular purpose.

I have a birth certificate issued from the Conton of Zurich, but since it is very old I was told that it is invalid and that I have to go for a new birth certificate. I was also advised that I could get the new certificate through a competent Swiss authority.

I am temporarily living in Dhaka, as my husband (an Indian as well) is working here.

Could someone please help me as to how to go about getting the new birth certificate?

Swiss has an embassy in Dhaka. Would a visit there help in anyway?

Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you in anticipation. Good day!
