Well, you got lucky by them accepting your permit application here without having to go back to the U.S. for a D Visa at least. For me, it was 2 months for the marriage processing - also through the SF Embassy, and then another 2 months to get the Visa through New York (since I changed States) for which time I had to be separated from my husband. You luckily cut one corner, and got shafted on the marriage registration, but it will even out in the end. Patience Dear...
