One more time: IMO...Impossible, unless Macedonian husband is top scientist or one of you is very wealthy.
I've spent 3 months in Lugano in 2004 (on a Macedonian passport) working out all options. I was unable to get work permit. In my case somebody (employer) bothered to apply for a permit. In most cases employers don't bother.

Might be a silly question, but if marriage is on the table and you are legally in the USA, why doesn't he want to move to the USA?
Wouldn't that make the most sense?

My guess is this is his end game.
He suggests somewhere she would like to live.
Come to Europe to get married.
Try to move/get a job in Switzerland.
Sorry it didn't work out, let's go to the USA.

If you're a US citizen, you can always bring the guy over on a K (fiancee) visa - to the US. You're required to marry within 90 days if i remember correctly. And then he goes through the permanent residency (green card) process. There is a vetting process, and you have to prove you can support your fiancee/husband. He will get a work authorization and can work in the US, but you have to be able to support him initially.
Unfortunately, since the incident in San Bernardino, this type of visa may be more heavily scrutinized since this is how one of the shooters arrived in the US.

I think he just wrongly believes that US citizens can get a work permit in CH like any other EU citizens. He wanted to probably just piggyback.

Usually things go downhill after that, ending with them broke hearted and broke.
I am hoping that the OP does some more reading, mostly between the lines, and learns from other peoples mistakes.

Maybe the OPs fiancee is genuine, and just very mis-informed .... I hope.
However, to the OP, just be-careful. Don't send him any money or documents, for the Visa process or booking flights etc.
