Australian working in CH, weekends in DE

I'm an Australian applying for a job in Switzerland. My partner (also non-EU) is studying in Frankfurt so, assuming I get the job, we're planning to spend alternate weekends in Switzerland and Germany. She can do this without a problem (she has a student visa) but after reading some posts here I am not so sure about myself. Can holders of Swiss work permits now travel freely in the Schengen area? As an Australian, I can travel for 3 months visa-free in the EU anyway, but every-other weekend for a couple of years might be pushing my luck...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Switzerland is not yet part of Schengen.

How will you travel between Frankfurt and Switzerland? If by car then you'll have no problem. Even by air, in practice, you will get checked so rarely that it won't matter.

I know Switzerland is not a Schengen country, at least until the 1st of Nov.

I will be travelling by train. Actually I don't think it even matters - my 90 days of visa-free travel in the Schengen zone is cumulative over 6 months. Any other Aussies here please correct me if I'm wrong.
