obtaining a B permit

I got married to a Swiss person in New York a year ago, and now we decided to move to Zürich where he is from.
After about 2 and a half months of waiting I was just, today, issued an entry visa to Switzerland.
Does anyone know how does the B,or whatever permit I should get, work?
Once I enter the country on my 1 entry visa, how long will I wait to be able to work and travel?

Thanks
Elizabeth.

Giving information in your question, will get a better answer. I see from your profile:

You also do not state how long you have been here. Presumably you are registered?

Your local community office (Kreisbüro) will issue you a B permit, but this may depend on what, if any work you do...

Re: where does one obtain a permit?

You are certainly making it hard for us to help you but as you appear to be currently in the USA I guess you're question should be "I am moving to Switzerland from the USA with my Swiss spouse - what is the procedure to obtain a residence permit?"

Having cleared that up, you simply register on arrival (within 8 days) and you will be issued with a B permit and will have the right to work.

I merged your two threads as the question is the same.

Re: obtaining a B permit

Yes, we have registered our marriage in Switzerland about 6 months ago.
My husband, who is in Zürich right now has submitted all the documents required and I was issued an Entry visa (since I am Serbian).

Once I arrive to Zürich and register , how long could it take to obtain a B permit? weeks, months?

Thanks

Re: obtaining a B permit

He wasn't told anything...I got a call from the Swiss embassy here to go and pick up my entry visa. We assume that he will receive a letter from them with more specific information. But so far, we don't know anything yet...

Re: obtaining a B permit

Hi
My question is similar. I will be marrying with a Swiss citizen in Geneva.
My nationality is Turkish. But I am currently working in Amsterdam. I have a work permit in Netherlands till Feb 09.

I am wondering if I will get a work permit after the marriage automatically or should I apply for it separately and how long does it take to get it.
Thanks

Assuming you intend living in Switzerland then this will all be handled when you arrive and register at your local town hall. How long? You guess is as good as ours but in the region of 1 week to 2 months.
