Non-EU, B permit expiring in 20 days, Extention possible?

Hey guys,

This is my first post on the forum so do pardon me if I sounds unfamiliar with the way things are done, or if I am repeating an already asked question. I have been going through the posts here, and they have been extremely informative especially when compared to the OCP website, including sparse queries to them over the phone (if I hit the 'they actually picked it up' jackpot).

I have been in Switzerland since May 2014 when I started a PhD at Unige. Come 2015 and I could not bear the academic straightjacket I found myself in, and decided to opt out. I ended my contract on Sept, 2015. I had already started looking for jobs around switzerland but it turned out to be insanely hard even with a masters. In any case I branched out to the rest of EU, and finally received a couple of offers and accepted one from Paris.

The company applied for a French work permit for me, end of March and they have no idea when the decision would come back. The prospective start date is 1 May, 2016. I would really rather wait for the result in Switzerland with my boyfriend (who I'm staying with), rather than take a >700 chf trip to India(the mothership) and back (add in some issues with parents).

My B, Non-EU permit, which has been renewed once last year, will be expiring end of april and I would like to extend it for a couple of months, while I wait for the hallowed portals of french bureaucracy to make their verdict.

OCP after flat out refusing, then was incredulous when I mentioned if I could instead apply for a tourist visa, suggested I go to the french embassy for the tourist visa since switzerland shouldnt have to worry about my french job or that I apply for an extension but not mention my french job (wait what?).

I also went to the French embassy, who after hearing about the job offer and the pending work visa stuff, flat out refused any sort of short stay visa to france, due to 'conflicts of visa processes' and 'the fear one might overstay if the work visa is refused' bs. So basically that rules it out.

Since everyone on the forum seems so well informed and nice, I figured that I'd type out the story of me against the machine and hope someone reads it just as they sit on the toilet, and with nothing better to do, responds and enlighten me to this...bureaucraziness?

Thanks in advance, any sort of reply/similar experience stories appreciated!
