| | Work permit question: brother moving to CH and staying with me, steps?
Hi
I live in a 5.5 apartment with my wife and my brother is moving to stay with us permanently after securing a work contract. All of us are EU-15.
Question is, what will he show as a rental contract to the Immigration Office? In my rental agreement my landlord says I can have as many people living with me permanently as I want, as long as I follow all cantonal rules regarding occupancy etc.
Do I just write a letter for my brother that says he will be staying with me? Anyone done this before? I want him to get the 5 year B permit immediately if possible and not get any trouble.
This is canton Zug if it matters.

If his contract is for more than a year, he'll get a B permit, if it's less he'll get an L. You don't get to choose, them's the rules.

In Zug you need to also have an open ended rental contract to get a 5 year permit. It happened to me too, full time work contract and one year apartment lease they wouldn't give me the full permit. Had to change my rental contract to open ended to get it.
So there's no standard template, I just ask them for it like Minimia mentioned? I thought I might have to write one from scratch myself.

Ask first and see what they say. They may have a form like the one miniMia mentioned Vaud has or they may not. If not, then you can ask exactly what you need to provide to make it all good.

They asked me to get my landlord to write a form stating explicitly the name of the guest and that they approve them staying.
No template, I should write it
Fair point, can't really complain.
