L permit

Goodmorning.
A quick question about timings for L permit.

I have received 6-months work contract starting from 3 January, I am EU citizen.
Brought all documents to Gemeinde on the 6th of January.
Called today Immigration in Bern and they said would take another couple of weeks.

So questions are:
- will the L permit starts from the day I sent docs to Gemeine or from when Bern Immigration stamp it?
- my employer said for them is ok for me to start working. I got a paper from Gemeinde that states that I have submitted docs and awaiting now. Is it ok?

Thanks all,
F.T.

Re: L permit

You can start work as soon as you have applied for the permit, you don't need to wait to have it in your hand.

Do you know from which date would the permit start?

Not sure... but the date doesn't really matter. If you have a work contract, you should be able to open a bank account with that, just tell them you are still waiting for the permit to come through.

The permit will be backdated to start from the date you enter/entered Switzerland.
