C permit, EU or NON-EU, by definition, cannot be associated with any condition (not like a B permit which can be associated with employment so you must be employed during renewal) . As long as you do not depend on social assistance, you can be unemployed and live in switzerland all your life if you have a C permit.
Also, under the current law, there is no such a thing that C permit downgraded to B (this is something which might happen with the future law if you are no longer integrated) . C permit cannot be downgraded but only be revoked, under well defined and very specific reasons (again nothing to do with employment situation)

| Partly yes, but if you already worked in Switzerland for specific period of time, you might have chance to be eligible for extension of c permit. Maybe you can also wait with quitting the job 
I'd call immigration and really check with them what is really required. You got it already and shouldn;t be taken from you so easily, but... As longas you;re not EU or Schengen zone member this might be chellenging. Check with them directly what exactly is required (of course don;t mention that you;d like to quit the job.. ) | |
