| | renewing USA passport
I'm in the process of renewing my usa passport.
I live in Zurich and just requested a time to meet.
I need to get a new passport photo -
Where can I get that?

Any photo booth at a major train station I guess, unless the US ones are a specific (read awkward) size. If they are, then look for a photography store that offers passport photo services and book an appointment to have your photos done there.

Go to a photo store and ask if they do US passport photos. Most of them do in my experience. The embassy used to list them by region, but seems they don't do that anymore. According to the website, these are the requirements if renewing an adult passport--https://ch.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/passports/renewing-an-adult-passport/photographs/, as per the size, background, size of head etc.. but photo stores generally know the requirements.

I went to Foto Pro GANZ, Rennweg 26 in Zurich to get mine. Not cheap but quick and no appointment needed.
If you happen to have an appointment at the Embassy in Bern, they have a photo machine inside; much cheaper than the one listed above. Could be a gamble though if it were not functioning on the day you needed it though.

Thanks for the tip re: the photo machine at the Embassy, Patxi.

I think a number of the photo booths around Zurich have a US sized picture option. You get 4 pictures instead of 5, if I recall correctly. Could be mistaken, but worth a look. Good luck!

I got my older childrens' renewal passport photos at the train station photo booth. When my youngest was a baby, I went to a photo store but the train station is sufficient for adults and older kids.

It was 10 Francs and I had to pay with coins since the machine didn't accept bills. Fortunately I had some, as the gal behind the counter told me they don't make change.
