| | B permit renewal -"auszeit" with RAV
Dear All,
i have been employed for 5 yrs and ongoing; my spouse has recently lost his job, and currently on a "timeout" bei RAV ( which he is taking to take care of his sick parents), but is actively looking for a job.
Our B permits ( EU country) are expiring very soon---will it be a problem that he is temporary signed off of RAV during the time of his request for the renewal?
Thanks for any advice.

Since you used the word "spouse", I assume that you are married or in a registered partnership. And since you say "our permits are are expiring very soon", I assume that one of your permit is dependent on the other (just check that on one permit it is mentioned "family reunion").
Now:
- If her permit is dependent on yours (her permit shows "family reunion"), as long as you are employed, your both permits will be renewed. She working or not or receiving employment benefit is not relevant.
- If your permit is dependent on hers (your permit shows "family reunion"), it might be a bit more complex but still you will not be in trouble (as you are both EU citizens). Either they will just renew your both permit as normal, or they would exchange your status (you becoming main permit holder). But an the end of the day, nothing really changes for you.
Remember to mention your situation in your commune, and they will tell you.
By the way, if you had 5-year B permit until now, you should be qualified for C permit during this renewal.

thanks a lot for your infos.
none of our permits show ( family reunion), although, yes, we are married. Originally, my B permit was dependant on his, ...I got my job only a few months later ( when I already had my permit). I am just not sure if they will still renew his--since he is right now temporary not registered with RAV, but also without a job...

If you're able to support the both of you there should not be a problem. His permit will also be reniewed .... this time his depends on yours.
